26th September 2026 with Benjamin Rowe and Heather McAslan, calling from Rachel Shapiro Wallace

Benjamin Rowe and Heather McAslan

Benjamin Rowe and Heather McAslan have played together in several scratch contra bands over the years...but never on purpose. Until now! This will be an energetic and playful fiddle & piano duo, bringing their best tunes from Old Time, New England, English, Québécois repertoire - and probably more!

Rachel Shapiro Wallace

Rachel Shapiro Wallace is a dance caller who strives to communicate connection, wonder, and joy through dancing.

Having stumbled upon contra dancing in Boston, Rachel eventually realized her passion for calling after moving to Chicago. She has called dances throughout America, the UK, and Paris. Since moving to her current home in Edinburgh, Rachel has helped organize Scotland's only contra dance series.

Rachel's high-energy approach involves clear, concise walk-throughs, flexibility in teaching and programming, and working with the band to create that groove that dancers love.
